Frequently Asked Questions

How do I commence a course of hypoxi training?

Initially, you will need to come for a consultation in order for a therapist to assess your requirements and for you to have a trial session on the Hypoxitrainer. The session is also an opportunity to learn more about this unique system and go through the training schedule.

What actually happens during the session?

It is best to wear a casual t shirt, loose tracksuit bottoms and trainers. You are then helped into a neoprene 'skirt' or vacuum blanket which provides an airtight seal around the pod. The purpose of this skirt is to create a vacuum inside the Hypoxitrainer. You then step into the pod where you'll find an exercise bike. The skirt forms a seal around your waist allowing the vacuum to do its magic, while you pedal for thirty minutes.

How often do I come for the training?

A course of 12 or 24 sessions is recommended on the Hypoxitrainer, three times a week-ideally on alternate days.

What results can I expect?

With persistence, a fat loss equivalent to one clothing size can be achieved in the problem areas every 4 - 6 weeks. Permanently.

Are there any side effects?

There are none, you may feel the urge to drink more water as the body detoxifies. It is obviously safer than invasive surgery and preferable to passive treatments where you are lying down, without muscle activity.

Can you do Hypoxi-training if you are not very fit?

Hypoxi-training is done in a vacuum chamber where the patient's heart beat is constantly monitored. This means training can be carried out at a very low heart rate, if necessary. This training does not require any particular degree of physical fitness.

Are there people for whom hypoxi training is not suitable?

You must not be suffering from any major illness, infection or inflammation. Also, pregnancy, those under the influence of drugs and those at risk of thrombosis are contra-indicated.

What are the nutritional guidelines?

In general to consume a healthy, balanced nutritious diet and drink plenty of water. Approx 1-2 hours before training have some good choice complex carbohydrates and no protein. For the next 6-8 hours after the training have healthy choice protein and no starchy carbohydrates. Also, refrain from drinking caffeine and smoking before your session.

What to wear for hypoxi training
